Sanny Fran

Gettting to a computer on Kaua'i has proven harder than anticipated.....but, I've made it to an old computer finally. It's just too bad it won't let me upload pictures. sigh. Hopefully, I can do that soon.

Janet and I spent a few days in San Francisco before she had to fly home. She left at the same time that my mother was flying in. I convinced me mum to come out to California because she's never been outside of the SE.

The time Janet and I had in San Fran was pretty sweet. I don't think we were ever bored. It's a really dynamic city with so many different hot spots and activities. We did a pretty good job hitting all the notable spots and doing the tourist thing; Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, the Ferry Building, Fisherman's Warf, riding the cable cars, Ghiradelli Square, Twin Peaks (overlooking the whole city), Chinatown (which is the biggest I've ever seen), Japantown, Haight Ashbury, Lombard Street. Nothing too crazy happened. It was just a really solid experience. Anyone who hasn't seen SF, should definately make the trip out. I could definately see living there. The Golden Gate was particulary interesting, because we were told that it's number one bridge in the world that people choose to commit suicide. yuck. :( But, it's also cool that we learned about the maintenance peeps who connect themselves to cables and shimmy right up the wires to the top.

When my mother came I pretty much just re-showed her everything that Janet and I had seen and then we took a two-day trip to Yosemite. She seemed to enjoy herself, though it's hard to tell with her sometimes; not too expressive that one. I'm just glad she got to see a different part of the world for once. I'll post some pics soon, since I have nothing wild and crazy to report and the people they do enjoy those photos.... Love you and miss you all!
